Presenting the 2nd Featured Speaker: Emma Tiebens!

1) What was the AHA moment that changed your life to what you are today?

There are 3 major AHA moments in my life. The first one was when I migrated to the United States in 1989, all by myself, and never having been to the US prior to that, not being very fluent in the English language.

The second was the day I gave birth to my son Garrett – who is my 4th pregnancy but my only living child. We both almost died prior to his birth because unbeknownst to me, I had a ruptured uterus which they only found out after an emergency C-section. The doctor was literally in shock that we survived it. It was that pivotal moment when I declared, “From this point on, every moment is a blessing and I’m going to live a life on purpose and help others find theirs.” This was the pivotal moment when I decided to become an Entrepreneur and resign from being an International Flight Attendant from a major US Airline.

The third and most recent one was my divorce from my 16 year marriage to my soulmate. This by far was the most painful and scariest time of my life, having to care for my 14 year old son and my 84 year old mother. I literally mourned for months, while trying to function and reinvent my life with the specialized skills I have learned about life, business and personal and spiritual growth.

Choosing to be a single mother at 50 years old after being dependent on my husband was a daunting decision and looking back, had I not decided to feel the fear but do it anyway, I would have been living a life of compromise and mediocrity. It’s because of that experience that I have become the stronger, more empowered and more purposeful woman, mother, sister, daughter, friend, business owner, mentor and global citizen I have become today.

This decision has opened many doors for me to speak and share my story in stages all over the world as well as on TV, Radio, newspaper, and social media. By being able to boldly share my story, I’m able to help others share theirs.

It’s because of this that I have more empathy for helping people – especially women – to unleash their stories and build their platforms so they can magnetize their ideal audience, monetize their message, if they so choose, and make a difference in their communities and in the world! Embracing the power of their stories is something they can always fall back on and can not be taken away.

2) What 3 mottos do you live by when faced with challenges?
a) “All I need is already within me. No need to look for solutions outside of me… the answers are within.” Many times, when we are faced with a decision, the most predominant feeling is the feeling of fear. So we reach out to well-meaning friends with the question, “What should I do?” When we do that, we silence the most important person we should ask and that is your higher self. We need to learn to breathe and feel the fear but understand that fear is just temporary. When we align with the same power within us – the same energy that creates worlds – we will realize that we have much more control things that dominate our thoughts.

b) “The present is perfect. I’m exactly where I need to be. There’s power in this now moment.”

This has been my default mantra for years! When things don’t go as planned, I remind myself that “the present is perfect” because it is. One of my favorite books is “The Power of Now”. There’s perfection in the minute by minute unfolding but most of often, people are always rushing to get to what’s next, that they are unable to relish the beauty and power of their now moments.

c) “Things are ALWAYS working out for me because as long as I’m alive, I can never get it wrong, and I can never get it done. I am constantly in the process of growth and reinvention.” This has been my default mantra for years! When things don’t go as planned, I remind myself that “the present is perfect” because it s. One of my favorite books is “The Power of Now”. There’s perfection in the minute by minute unfolding but most of often, people are always rushing to get to what’s next, that they are unable to relish the beauty and power of their now moments.

3) An inspirational quote to motivate the ladies out there.

“You go through darkness so you can guide others into the light.

Your life story has the power to change lives – yes including your own – as soon as you BELIEVE that your story is important enough to be told, and WORTHY enough to be shared.”
